Something always draws me to stories like this. I love the strangeness of people on the margin of our world. They give rise to little anecdotes that no one could ever make up.
"The nurse told me she fell two weeks ago in her home, and has been in the hospital since. When I tell her this, Clara accepts it, without question. 'Oh,' she says. 'That's right.'"
Yeah. There are people living on the margin in the sense of abnormal lifestyles, but also those on the margin in the sense of health / the span of their lives. What I mean is that people about to die are an interesting bunch. I think they can tell you (explicitly or otherwise) a lot about humanity

Absolutely. Writing has definitely been an outlet for me, and this essay in particular has been helpful to process things.
